📍  Welcome to season five of no Silver Spoons.  I actually love saying that I'm Sarah Beth Herman, and whether this is your first, your very, very first episode of No Silver Spoons, or you have been listening here since day one, I want to officially welcome you into a brand new season of this podcast. Season five is here, and this season is so intentional, it's so expansive, and honestly in my heart of hearts and what I dreamed this season would be is that it would be designed to meet you exactly where you are and help you step forward from right there.

If you're listening to this episode at the very beginning of the season, know this. You are in the right place at the right time. For what is coming next, and if you found this episode later on, this all still applies right to you. This episode exists for two reasons. First, it is our closing chapter of 2025, A moment to pause, to reflect, and to acknowledge everything that has brought us right here.

Second, it is the opening of the door to season five. And before we fully step into it, I want to personally welcome you and set the stage for what this season is really about, because this is not just another season of No Silver Spoons. This season is a turning point. No Silver spoons started with a simple idea, honest conversations about leadership, business, dentistry becoming, becoming without pretending.

That seems easy, but it's not as easy as you might think. It's also not glamorous from the very beginning. This podcast has been about what happens behind the scenes, the mental load, the pressure, the responsibility, the decisions we make that no one sees. The moments of doubt that often come with growth.

Season one was really foundations. It was stories. It was understanding how our upbringing, our experiences, and our generational patterns shape how we lead and how we see ourselves. Season two took us a little deeper into leadership challenges, carrying responsibility, managing people, navigating growth, learning what leadership actually requires when things get uncomfortable.

And season three. I focused on identity, confidence learning how to take up space without shrinking or without overcompensating. Understanding that leadership is not about proving yourself, but about trusting yourself. And season four, we leaned heavily into keep going, protecting our peace, recognizing when it's time to walk away in order to keep going.

Rebuilding after loss learning that sometimes the bravest leadership move is choosing to keep going. And through every season, one theme kept showing up and that was our mind. So season five is where we take everything that we've talked about and we bring it inward. This season is not about adding more strategies to your plate.

It is not about doing more, fixing more, pushing harder. It is about understanding how your mind works and how that understanding changes everything. Season Five is dedicated entirely to learning how our brains function, how thought patterns are formed, and how we can intentionally retrain our minds to see possibility, to see clarity, and to see growth.

Because so many challenges in entrepreneurship are not rooted in lack of skill. They are rooted in conditioning. They're rooted in old narratives and survival patterns that once protected us, but no longer serve us. This season is about stepping into new light, a more aware light, a grounded light, a light that allows growth without chaos.

You are going to hear more of the word neuroplasticity in every intro this season, so I want you to fully understand what it means and why it matters. For a long time, science believed the brain was fixed, that once it developed it could not change. We now know that that is not true. Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to change.

Adapt and reorganize itself based on repeated thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Your brain creates neural pathways through repetition. What you think often becomes familiar. What becomes familiar starts to feel safe, and what feels safe begins to guide your decisions. This is why certain thoughts show up automatically.

Why doubt can feel louder than logic. Why success can feel uncomfortable. But here is the powerful part. Those pathways are not permanent. Your brain can form new ones. It can learn safety and growth. It can learn to expect opportunity instead of threats. Season five of no silver spoons is about teaching your brain new patterns that align with where you are headed, not where you have been.

As entrepreneurs and leaders, our minds are constantly working. We make decisions that impact others. We carry responsibility that is often unseen. We navigate uncertainty complaints. People who are mad at us, employees who don't like us, finances that are really hard to confront, and even more relationships than I just mentioned all at one time.

When the mind is overwhelmed, leadership suffers. When the mind is operating from fear.  Growth stalls. When the mind expects loss, it looks for proof everywhere. Season five here at No Silver Spoons is about building an intentional framework that allows you to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting emotionally and not because challenges disappear.

But because you are grounded enough to move forward and to move through them, this season is about becoming. It's about learning how to lead from clarity instead of fear. How to trust yourself again, how to step into the role you were always meant to carry. Because here is something that I want you to hear very clearly.

You have already overcome hard things. You have already proven resilient. You are already capable. Season five is not here to turn you into someone new. It is here to help you remember who you already are and strengthen the mind that carries you forward. There is a belief that will be woven into every single episode of this season.

Nothing meant for you can be stopped and nothing not meant for you can be forced. You cannot miss what is meant for you. And you cannot create alignment through pressure. Your role is not to push. Your role is to become more aware, more aligned, and more available. So this season's going to feel different.

It's going to feel intentional, it will feel reflective, it will feel grounding. We're going to talk about thought patterns and how they form. We're gonna talk about rewiring limiting beliefs. We're gonna talk about emotional regulation in leadership, growth without burnout, letting go of past versions of yourself because they no longer serve a purpose.

Here we're gonna talk about building confidence without pressure. This season is designed to give you tools you can actually apply in real life, not help you escape it. Before we close. This episode I want to explain something you will hear in every episode Moving forward  at the end of every episode, I always include what I call my That's good moment.

The, that's good moment. I wanna recap it for a moment because it might be a why, since you've heard why I talk about the, that's good moment.  It's the part of the episode where we pause and we bring the entire episode together. It's not a motivational quote and it's not a filler. It is a recap of what matters most from that episode.

The that's good moment is where I summarize the episode and pull out the key takeaways and leave you with exactly what I want you to carry when you press stop, when you literally turn the car off, or you turn off the audio app you use to listen to this podcast. So every time you hear me introduce our, that's good moment.

I want you to know this. This is the time you need to pay the closest attention. It's your reminder of what we talked about. It's your anchor and your moment to reflect before moving on.  I want you to think of it as our time that we really wrap everything up and you get your takeaway. Because if you just come here to listen, but you're not comprehending.

You're not actually hearing what you need to take with you in the next conversation, the next day at work, the next leadership meeting, the next time you start to grow, what are we here for? So here's your, that's good moment for this episode. Season five is a new chapter, not because you need to become someone else, but because you are already ready to understand yourself more deeply.

This season is about the mind. It's about recognizing old patterns. It's about learning that your thoughts are learned not fixed. Neuroplasticity reminds us that growth is possible, that change is available, that your brain can learn to support you where you are headed. No Silver spoons. The podcast has always been about becoming.

Season five is about becoming with intention. And that's what I want you to take with you today. So as we close out this year and step into season five, I want you to know how grateful I am for every listener, every message, and every moment you have spent here. This next season is something I am truly excited about.

There is depth coming. There is growth coming, and there is a space being made for you to expand. So welcome to season five of no silver spoons. I'll catch you 📍 on the next episode right here in season five.
